Serves as a strategic Compliance leader and trusted advisor to senior management, partnering closely with business and functions teams to enable sustainable growth while ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and the organization’s risk appetite.

This role is responsible for designing and evolving the Compliance strategy, frameworks, and governance practices that promote consistent and effective compliance across the organization. Provides proactive, risk-based guidance on new initiatives, products, and business changes, translating regulatory requirements into practical and scalable solutions that support business objectives.

Acts as a key liaison among stakeholders, fostering a strong culture of ethics, accountability, and sound risk management, while positioning Compliance as an enabling and value-adding partner to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the Compliance strategy in alignment with business priorities and regulatory expectations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on compliance, regulatory, and conduct-related matters
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into clear policies, standards, and practical business solutions
  • Design and maintain governance frameworks that ensure consistent compliance practices across functions and regions
  • Provide proactive, risk-based advisory support on new products, initiatives, and strategic changes
  • Partner with Legal, Risk and business teams to enable informed decision-making and balanced risk outcomes
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance awareness through stakeholder engagement and education
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risks, assessing potential impacts and recommending actions to leadership
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Compliance team, setting clear priorities and delivering effective support to the organization
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to embed compliance considerations into business processes and decision-making
  • Track key performance indicators and provide insights to senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
  • Represent the Compliance function in leadership forums and strategic initiatives as required
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques, structure potential solutions, and drive to resolution with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment and successful execution, understanding how to operate effectively across diverse businesses
  • Experience managing diverse teams, and comfort navigating complex, highly matrixed organizations
  • Comfortable acting as an agent for positive change with agility and flexibility
  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views. Strong presentation and relationship management skills are essential
  • Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic and approachable style. Candidates must have effective persuasion skills, the ability to work effectively at the highest levels of the organization, and will display highly effective networking and influencing skills
  • Executive presence and a reputation for building strong relationships with stakeholders and leading teams, both direct reports and in peer/influence models
  • Subject matter expertise in area of focus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree; experience in compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof; experience and current knowledge of product/function products and services, including interpretation and application of all related laws, regulations and directives. Experience managing a diverse staff; Advanced degree preferred
