By joining Citi, you will become part of a global organization whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress. **Team/Role Overview** This role is part of the Markets Data Risk team within Markets COO, focusing on executing and enhancing data controls related to Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and associated DQ validations for Markets data, specifically designing and operating controls to manage operational, valuation, and governance risks related to data quality. The Markets Data Risk team works closely with Global Markets Trading Businesses, In-Business Risk (IBR), Global Market Risk (GMR), and Finance in setting standards and procedures, building 1st Line of Defense (1LOD) data controls, assessing and managing data risk, and leading data quality issue management and governance across processes and activities within Markets, Standardized Approach for calculating Counterparty Credit Risk under Basel regulations (SA-CCR), Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) Standardized Approach (SA), and Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA). **What you’ll do** - Design, implement, and continuously monitor daily controls to mitigate data risks, particularly for Markets data, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and associated Data Quality (DQ) validations, ensuring operating effectiveness - Drive the standardization and consistent evidencing of controls, align them with strategic infrastructure initiatives, and lead enhancements for CDE DQ validations, including UAT and production testing - Analyze data control metrics, actively identifying and understanding data quality issues (including end-to-end data flows), and leading remediation efforts in alignment with strategic data programs - Recruit and develop a data controls team equipped with specialist data analysis and/or risk and control skillsets to effectively operate controls - Provide expert data risk advisory, supporting strategic data execution, and offering guidance on data policies and procedures to business and stakeholders - Drive control enhancements, lead working groups with stakeholders and technology partners, and manage project delivery - Liaise effectively with Internal Audit and regulators to articulate control implementation, data quality metrics, and associated remedial actions, while supporting engagements, identifying corrective actions, facilitating remediation, and ensuring timely responses **What we’ll need from you** - 10 years in data analytics within Markets (1st or 2nd line), with a strong grasp of financial products, operational intricacies, and various Markets asset classes (Equities, Rates, FX, Markets Treasury, Spread Products, Commodities, etc.), including their data structures and valuation methodologies, CDE requirements - Comprehensive understanding of how data influences business decisions, including expertise in data modeling and manipulation patterns - Knowledge of CDE and validation related data quality issues at process touchpoints in complex technology environments - Extensive experience in designing and monitoring key controls in Manager's Control Assessment (MCA), particularly within trading environments.
