In this role, you are expected to:
Provide support for the Citigroup Global Markets Aust (CGMA) Business. Processing of Fixed Income Security transactions and provide a settlement service dealing with both External and Internal customers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibility for Monitoring the RBA Repo trades to ensure we have securities on hand to deliver before cut-off and ensure no exceptions
Delivery management/Depot re-alignments of Fixed income bonds for all entities as required between Euroclear and local depositories
Ensure daily cash journals are calculated and completed with digital timestamps.
Ownership of control functions and all post execution exception processes such as daily reconciliation and weekly BSER exception reporting monitoring for all Fixed Income.
Responsibility for Reporting, investigation and follow up of Failed Trades, metrics and Commentary
Process daily margin requirements with multiple clients and ensure payment /receipts and dispute resolution are make in a timely manor
Liaise with domestic & regional clients, both internal and external for resolution of failed and unmatched trades.
Provide pro-active client service at all times to both internal & external clients and Partner with the Business and Middle Office in terms resolving issues.
Organize and complete important quarterly monitoring and control testing of Fixed Income processes
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with the ethical standards contained in the Citigroup Code of Conduct.
Understand ASX and ASIC Market Integrity Rules in conjunction with the Settlement Process
Adhere to firm policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements.
Responsible for supporting the business unit to ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures, such as Manual Payments Policy and US Sanctions/Global Interdiction.
As a successful candidate, you would ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
Previous experience in a Financial Markets operations role is preferable.
Basic knowledge of core Banking (Treasury related) products preferred.
Understanding of general business and financial Markets principles.
Knowledge of Local and International Financial Bonds Markets from a settlements perspective.
Basic Accounting knowledge with a base to develop Securities accounting knowledge. Understanding of proofing concepts and Two-way reconciliation processes.
Minimum Software literacy of ‘intermediate’ in relation to Excel and MS Word.
Appreciation and understanding of the key treasury controls such as the importance and impact of unconfirmed trades or outstanding settlement reconciliation items.
Ability to work in a team with a willingness to learn from others, share knowledge and accept added responsibility as and when required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to recognise problems early and offer suitable solutions for resolution.
Identify opportunities for simplification and streamlining of processes
