Job Description:
The HU/CZ/SK Country Markets & Sales Head is a dual function senior executive level position within Citi Europe PLC – Hungary Branch. The role could also be managed from a different branch based on business decision. On one hand, the person is responsible for leading the local Markets teams, ensuring full compliance with the local & Citi regulatory liquidity framework and aligning the strategy across all products, ensuring as well the objectives of each product group is in line with the country priorities. On the other hand the person is also responsible for defining & executing the Sales strategy in line with the global product offering, and in being personally responsible for production. The responsibility will also extend to Hub Managed Countries in the region.
Responsibilities:
HU/CZ/SK Markets Head Specific:
- Full leadership responsibility locally for the entire markets team, ensuring unbiased approach to any of the product functions
- Ensure strong connectivity between Markets and the rest of the teams in the franchise (Coverage teams, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc)
- Compliance to all local & Citi liquidity regulations in relationship to corporate treasury function
- Active participation in all local governance committees (CCC, ALCO, BRCC, etc)
- In coordination with the local CCO, own local regulatory relationships & manage any regulatory interface & markets specific industry group.
Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, and Credit Risk, Audit and Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
- Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same
- Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these.
Cluster Sales Specific:
- Align each product strategy with the country priorities to achieve the overall markets revenue targets.
- Create the local strategy for Citi’s Global Product offering/mix.
Drive the Sales strategy executing with the product teams & the relevant support coverage group. Full ownership of team and individual sales revenue.
- Train and build Sales skills of the team.
Ensure full appropriateness & suitability of our product offering with clients
- Drive internal approval process with Risk & Business Seniors
- Drive rigorous HR process (performance appraisals, regular feedback sessions, coaching) of the local team.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Very strong leadership / management skills.
- Ability to motivate and influence a diverse populations of key performers.
- Cross-Product experience & problem solving skills
- Proven track record of executed landmark deals
- Ability to originate, lead and execute complex transactions
- Build partnership and bring down silos. Build teams and grow expertise.
- Ability to influence and create alignment at senior levels across the firm both locally and internationally.
- Ability to build client relationship & driving opportunities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred
