Job Summary:
The Employee Reimbursement Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, compliant, and efficient processing of employee expense reimbursements. This role requires deep expertise in Citi's Travel and Expense (CTE) portal, Operating Expense Governance Policy, and related reimbursement processes. The SME provides guidance, training, and support to colleagues, leads process improvement initiatives, and collaborates with stakeholders to optimize reimbursement workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues on complex employee expense reimbursement scenarios, ensuring compliance with Citi's Operating Expense Governance Policy and internal controls.
- Develop and deliver training programs on the CTE portal, expense policies, and reimbursement procedures.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, leveraging data analysis and best practices to optimize reimbursement workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Perform in-depth analysis of complex expense reports, resolving escalated issues, and providing recommendations for policy or process adjustments.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to employee reimbursements, providing expert advice and resolving complex inquiries.
- Collaborate with technical teams to test and implement system enhancements, automation initiatives, and other solutions to improve the reimbursement process.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for employee reimbursement processes, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to reimbursement processing, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Participate in business continuity planning and implementation, ensuring the resilience of reimbursement operations.
- Oversee and execute daily/weekly/monthly reimbursement processing activities, ensuring adherence to SLAs and internal controls.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- **Experience:**3+ years of experience in expense processing, accounts payable, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in employee reimbursement processes.
- Experience developing and delivering training programs.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Experience working in cross-cultural global teams is a plus.
- Skills & Competencies: Deep understanding of Citi's Operating Expense Governance Policy and related reimbursement procedures.
- Expert-level proficiency in the Citi Travel and Expense (CTE) portal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply technical and business knowledge.
- Strong sense of urgency and ownership, with a results-oriented approach.
