Overview:

The Global Lending Operations (“GLO”) Reconciliation Governance and Controls Intmd Assoc Analyst role will apply knowledge and experience to perform loan break reconciliation activities, including the analysis of data and identifying the root cause of reconciliation breaks. The Intmd Assoc Analyst is expected to have an understanding of industry practices and disciplinary knowledge of commercial lending products, booking and servicing processes and to further develop such knowledge through experiential and structured experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing governance, controls, and the resolution of reconciliation breaks resulting from loan processing activity
  • Review complex reconciliation breaks and related data/loan documentation while providing support to a variety of tasks related to the loan process
  • Independently reconcile, research, and resolve priority remediation activities (e.g., cash breaks)
  • Support business initiatives related to GLO reconciliation systems and product processors
  • Adhere to established procedures and policies to execute key controls to identify, resolve, monitor, and ensure appropriate reconciliation break remediation and other activities related to loan documentation/processing that require complex investigation or research
  • Perform root cause analysis to support stakeholders in identifying the root cause and reduce outstanding breaks
  • Enrich system data to streamline and enhance accuracy of reconciliation activities
  • Understand key processes related to various loan products and businesses and how duties relate/integrate with others in the team and closely related teams
  • Make recommendations to management to support process improvement
  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience
  • Timely management and escalation of all requests and issues related to loan processing
  • Make evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information and provide assistance in the implementation of loan documentation process improvements
  • Minimize risk to the bank through increased knowledge of procedural requirements - understand and monitor errors to suggest solutions to reduce errors and adhere to audit and control policies.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of bank related systems
  • Involved in the coaching, training, and providing guidance and support to new and/or junior members of the team
  • Utilize communication, diplomacy and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, and to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information, while sensitive to audience diversity
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience within financial services industry
  • English proficiency (spoken and written) required
  • Knowledge of reconciliation and accounting flow concepts (LoanIQ, Flexcube, Transaction Lifecycle Management preferred)
  • Knowledge of general ledger and subledger concepts (eRecon, FullSuite preferred)
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
  • Ability to identify, mitigate, manage, resolve, and escalate risks and issues
  • Awareness of reconciliation processes and controls
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word) is required
  • Awareness of risk types, policies and control measures and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and multi-task with a sense of urgency
  • Deliver results and able to meet tight deadlines

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Finance degree preferred

  • This role is Hybrid, 3x per week at the office at Avenida Revolución/Portal San Angel
  • To ensure business continuity and synergy with our global teams, especially in the United States, this role requires adherence to the U.S. holiday calendar. This means it may be necessary to work on Mexican national holidays. Further details regarding compensation associated with this condition will be discussed during the selection process
  • Fluent English is Required (you will work with global teams daily)
  • Excel Skills are mandatory, another Data Management skills and experiences are desirable
  • Experience/Knowledge in Lending Operations is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in Finance or Financial Services overall is required
