POSITION SUMMARY / OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role of Trader on the Short-Term Interest Rate Trading (STIRT) desk is responsible for market-making G10 FX swaps and cross-currency interest rate derivatives to facilitate Citi’s client franchise in the Asia Pacific timezone.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Pricing and execution of G10 FX swaps and cross-currency interest rate derivatives to a broad range of institutional and corporate clients.
  • Responsible and active risk management of associated FX and interest rate risks.
  • Generate market-leading revenue and facilitate a top tier share of client trading volumes.
  • Close collaboration with the regional salesforce to provide high-quality service and thought-leadership to clients.
  • Contribute towards the development of systems and infrastructure to support the global FX trading business.
  • Promote a culture of responsible risk and strong ethics.
  • Support operational efficiency and contribute to desk improvement initiatives.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS

  • Deep understanding of trading FX and interest rate products in G10 markets.
  • Established track record in managing a market-making book.
  • Demonstrate a strong willingness and capacity to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments.
  • Self-motivated and successful under highly competitive conditions.
  • Programming, statistics, and data analysis skills will be preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High standards of conduct, integrity and risk awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or quantitative field of study.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Markets.
