- A manager in Cash Equity Middle Office is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team in an effort to process orders and transactions originating from trading desks in coordination with the Operations
- Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of securities transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Cash Equity Middle Office consist of 7 people
- Manage daily performance related to securities post-trade activities in middle office such as trade confirmation and booking reconciliation
- Provide quality services to Japan domestic clients as sales support
- Perform trade reconciliation and help submit regulatory reports as trade support in Japan Equity
- Be responsible for middle office function in ECM deals
- Understand Japan regulations and exchange rules and ensure adherence to them
- Navigate the team to build strong relationship with Front Office and other stakeholders
- Appropriately manage business initiatives and clients’ requests against operational risks and address potential issues and concerns to senior management
- Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues when necessary and recommend actions for resolution
- Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures that offer solutions and cost saving opportunities
- Propose solutions to implement process improvements, client service enhancements, or overall technology enhancements
- Foster positive working environment and act as an advisor to new/junior staff
Licenses/Registrations
- JSDA Class 1 (Sales Representative Qualification) is a mandatory requirement.
- JSDA Internal Control Officer Qualification is a mandatory requirement.
Language Skills
- Fluent in Japanese (both written and verbal) is essential, including business-level keigo.
- Strong business-level English (both written and verbal) is required for effective communication with regional and global stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- People management experience
- Equity Middle Office experience using DTCC CTM/Smart bridge/ Triana
- Experience using JASDEC pre-matching platform
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
