Team/Role Overview
The Funding and Liquidity desk is tasked with reviewing and improving the funding and liquidity arrangements across all the product lines in Markets. The desk acts as a central hub for funding costs and liquidity strategy, so this team works with stakeholders across Markets and Corporate Treasury to design and implement transparent processes to allocate marginal costs/benefits to appropriate business segments and help structure business activity to maximise returns. Significant focus for this role will be given to secured financing, structured notes risk management and unsecured funding costs management.
The position will report to a London based manager and work closely with colleagues based in London and New York.
What you will do
- Implement new and enhanced business processes to support implementation of a standard and transparent secured transfer pricing framework
- Seek out and ensure corrective actions are implemented for system and control related issues with a goal of driving a robust, efficient and scalable business model across all traded asset classes.
- Participate in business-driven projects across functions, assisting in driving implementation and working closely with relevant stakeholders
- Drive technology change, process and control framework enhancements
- Responsible for developing desk analytical tools
- Co-ordinate and participate actively in all relevant business initiatives as required
- Foster excellent relationships between the businesses and various support functions
What we will need from you
- 5 years relevant experience in a financial services company
- Experience in financial markets, either in a first line role or related role such as quant, technology, risk, finance etc.
- Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills
- Excel VBA / other programming skills (e.g. Python)
- Familiarity with large scale data and querying ability is preferred
- Exposure to securities such as bonds and derivatives such as foreign exchange, interest rate products, securities financing and credit derivatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work with multiple functional groups in a cohesive manner
