Our Melbourne sales team is a high-performing, customer-centric group that partners closely with leading Telco service providers and network operators. We collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Partner, and Customer Success teams to support Telstra in modernizing their networks, improving service reliability, and accelerating digital and cloud transformation initiatives.
Your Role and Impact As the Senior Splunk Account Executive dedicated to managing the Telstra account, you will be pivotal in driving Splunk’s growth with this key Telco customer. You will own the Splunk/Telstra enterprise relationship, responsible for both acquiring new business and expanding existing engagements. Utilising the combined Splunk and Cisco team and portfolio, you will help Telstra tackle complex challenges in network visibility, service assurance, security, observability, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow the Telstra enterprise account, focusing on new business opportunities and expansion.
- Consistently achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets for licenses, support, and services within the Telstra account.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Telstra stakeholders on initiatives including network modernisation, 5G deployment, cloud migration, service assurance, and operational resilience.
- Develop and execute joint account plans and engagements with Telstra and key partners to maximise customer outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Splunk Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Partner, and Cisco teams to deepen account penetration and deliver long-term value.
- Lead pricing, commercial negotiations, and value-based selling discussions with all levels across Telstra, including senior Telstra executives, and C-suite leaders.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management in Salesforce in partnership with Sales Operations and management.
- Ensure strong pipeline hygiene and reporting accuracy through effective use of Salesforce and internal systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive B2B software sales experience within the Telecommunications industry, preferably with direct experience managing Telstra or similar large Telco accounts in Melbourne/Victoria.
- Proven success in managing and growing strategic Telco enterprise accounts through the full sales lifecycle.
- Established senior-level and executive relationships within Telco organizations.
- Strong discipline in forecasting and proficiency with Salesforce CRM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfortable engaging and influencing C-suite and senior Telco executives.
- Experience selling solutions related to network visibility, service assurance, security, cloud, observability, analytics, or infrastructure management.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills within complex Telco environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, partner, and professional services teams.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
