The EHS team partners closely with Workplace Resources, stakeholder organizations, and regional leadership to reduce risk and strengthen our safety culture. We are proactive, data-driven, collaborative, and our versatile team thrives in a fast-paced, international hybrid work model. Our team is focusing on integration of AI to accelerate safety outcomes, making us a leader in the tech industry. We ensure that as Cisco grows, we do so safely!

Your Impact

As the AMER EHS Theater Lead, you will serve as the primary link between the EHS organization and regional partners, translating EHS requirements into scalable programs and consistent execution across the Americas. You will be responsible for EHS-related compliance activities, including operating the North American regulated waste management program, coordinating responses to EHS inquiries from external parties, and supporting regulatory and ISO 14001 and 45001 engagements. You will use EHS data and systems to draw insights and accelerate data-driven decision-making using AI-augmented tools. Success in this role means effective team management and leadership, improved EHS theater performance, timely and effective closure of compliance gaps, and measurable progress in reducing the likelihood of serious injury, illness, or non-compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10–15 years of progressive EHS experience supporting multi-site operations in the Americas, including California regulatory exposure.

  • +5 years of people management experience, including leading experienced and developing EHS professionals.

  • Experience with EHS regulatory requirements and practices in California, the United States, Canada, Central and South America.

  • Experience operating or being responsible for a regulated waste management program (e.g., U.S. hazardous/regulated waste), including vendor/contractor oversight and compliance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

ISO 14001 and 45001 management system auditor credential.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent credential.

  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or equivalent credential.

Demonstrated experience delivering outcomes in a multi-stakeholder environment, including budget and cost-benefit analysis.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled workflows and/or agile/lean methodologies to improve reporting, partner communications, metrics analysis, and continuous improvement monitoring.
