About the Team
Splunk, a Cisco company, is experiencing strong growth in the ANZ region and have created this Commercial Account Executive role in our Sydney team to help maximise this growth potential and in particular to manage acquisition accounts in New Zealand. Our Sales Team are a high-performing, customer-centric group that partner closely with leading commercial customers. We have brought in a new leader for the Commercial/Scale space and it is an exciting time with a lot of momentum in the team. We collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Partner, and Customer Success teams to support our customers to accelerate their digital and cloud transformation initiatives.
Your Role and Impact
As a Splunk Account Executive, you will be pivotal in driving Splunk’s growth in the New Zealand commercial market. You will be responsible for both acquiring new business and expanding existing engagements. Utilising the combined Splunk and Cisco team and portfolio, you will help our customers tackle complex challenges in security, observability, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a group of New Zealand commercial accounts, focusing on new business opportunities and expansion.

Consistently achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets for licenses, support, and services within your accounts.

Serve as a trusted advisor to customer stakeholders on initiatives including network modernisation, 5G deployment, cloud migration, service assurance, and operational resilience.

Collaborate closely with Splunk Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Partner, and Cisco teams to deepen account penetration and deliver long-term value.

Lead pricing, commercial negotiations, and value-based selling discussions with all levels across customers.

Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management in Salesforce in partnership with Sales Operations and management.

Ensure strong pipeline hygiene and reporting accuracy through effective use of Salesforce and internal systems.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Extensive B2B software sales experience with a track record of success in managing and growing commercial and mid market customers through the full sales lifecycle.

Established senior-level and executive relationships within the New Zealand commercial enterprise market would be highly regarded.

Strong discipline in forecasting and proficiency with Salesforce CRM.
Preferred Qualifications

Comfortable engaging and influencing senior commercial executives.

Experience selling solutions related to security, cloud, observability, analytics, or infrastructure management.

Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills within complex business environments.

Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, partner, and professional services teams.

Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Please note that as this role will be managing New Zealand customers remotely from Australia, you will be required to travel to New Zealand on a regular basis.
