The AI Center of Excellence Innovation team is seeking a Software Engineering Advisor to design, build, and scale reusable AI-enabled software solutions across Evernorth and the enterprise.

This role is suited for an early to mid‑career engineer with strong full stack fundamentals and hands-on experience with modern AI technologies, including generative AI and knowledge graph–based systems. The Software Engineering Advisor will partner with senior engineers, architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions while continuing to build technical and architectural depth.

Role Objective

Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, reusable AI-first software that supports strategic initiatives across U.S. and global teams. This role focuses on application and service development—not traditional data engineering or reporting.

Technical Focus

  • Full stack development of AI-powered applications and services

  • LLM-based workflows, tools, and agents

  • Knowledge graph integration and semantic retrieval

  • Cloud-native development and containerization

  • Reusable components and reference implementations

Technology Stack

  • AWS

  • Docker and Podman

  • Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, Pydantic-AI, Lang Chain)

  • Neo4j and graph technologies

  • Deliver maintainable, well-structured code with senior guidance

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services and APIs for AI applications

  • Contribute to full stack features and service orchestration

  • Develop and integrate LLM-based workflows and agents

  • Support pilots and proofs of concept through production

  • Translate requirements into technical solutions

  • Support deployments, triage issues, and automate testing

Required Qualifications

  • Early to mid‑career software engineering experience

  • Strong Python and API development skills

  • Hands-on experience with generative AI or AI-enabled systems

  • Familiarity with knowledge graphs or graph modeling

  • Cloud-native development experience (AWS preferred)

  • Experience with containers (Docker or Podman)

  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals

  • Git and agile development experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AI, innovation, or platform teams

  • Exposure to multiple LLM providers or evaluation frameworks

  • Observability and monitoring experience

  • Contributions to shared libraries or accelerators

  • Open-source interest or contributions

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 111,700 - 186,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
