As a Product Owner in the health insurance industry, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the full product lifecycle, ensuring that our solutions meet business and customer needs. You will balance business priorities with internal capabilities, working closely with technology scrum teams to drive continuous improvement. You will be the knowledge owner of both the current Business-As-Usual (BAU) processes and systems, while also being directly engaged in the development and roadmap of new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Product Lifecycle Ownership: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of health insurance products, ensuring alignment with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.

Value Chain Alignment: Ensure that product features, enhancements, and systems align with the broader value chain and the strategic direction of the business.

Business and Technology Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including operations, compliance, marketing, and IT) to ensure successful product development and delivery.

Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize a product backlog in collaboration with technology scrum teams. Provide necessary business input to inform and refine development roadmaps.

Prioritization & Balancing Demands: Balance competing demands from business stakeholders and internal capabilities, making data-driven decisions to drive product and process improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including business leaders, marketing, and customer service teams, to gather feedback and ensure alignment of product features with customer needs and market trends.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in product development, process flows, and technology systems to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

System Knowledge & BAU Management: Be the expert on the current business-as-usual functions and systems, ensuring that ongoing product performance is maintained while driving future enhancements.

Metrics & KPIs: Define and track product success metrics and KPIs, ensuring that products meet customer expectations and business goals.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Health Insurance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, specifically within the health insurance or healthcare industry.

Strong understanding of health insurance processes, systems, and regulations.

Familiarity with agile methodologies, including backlog management and sprint planning, Agile SAFE Framework

Experience balancing business needs with internal development capabilities to drive product improvements.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across business, technology, and operational teams.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Familiarity with product management tools such as JIRA or similar platforms.

Experience with health insurance product development, claims systems, or regulatory compliance.

Familiarity with customer journey mapping, user experience design, or UX/UI principles.
-
Understanding of emerging trends in health tech and insurance technology.
