Join the Security team at Ciena—a tight-knit group of experts dedicated to protecting our company, products, and reputation. With increasing challenges in regulatory requirements, security threats, and customer expectations, we are growing and have exciting opportunities ahead.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and status reports to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Collaborate across Security, IT, Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams to align priorities.
  • Identify risks and dependencies, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Optimize resource allocation for maximum project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide regular reports and metrics to management and executive teams, showcasing improvements in security posture.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management practices and governance.
  • Build and foster cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and successful project delivery.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • 6+ years of proven project management experience, ideally in cybersecurity or information security.
  • Strong expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Agile coaching principles.
  • Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Office 365 for project management and documentation.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Security certifications like CISSP, CISM, or PMP.
  • Agile/Scrum certifications such as CSM, CSPO, or CSP-SM.

The Assets:

  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
  • Experience managing diverse teams of cybersecurity professionals.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in Agile project environments.
