**We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative student to join the hardware development team working on Ciena’s Switching products.**The position will be tailored to the successful applicant and will involve working with senior designers to implement and validate leading edge circuit packs.

• Support hardware test and debug of new and existing circuit boards

• Board programming, prototype inventory, etc.

• Assist in performing thorough design verification to validate functionality, performance, operating margins, and robustness.

• Signal integrity measurements, thermal stress, component qualification, etc.

• Contribute to documentation such as Design Specification and Test Plans

• The candidate will get exposure to the detailed design of high-speed digital and analog circuits

working in Cadence CAD tools (Concept/Allegro)

• Learn how fiber optic transport equipment and associated test equipment function.

The Must Haves:

• Working towards completion of a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering

• Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Assets:

• Familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers and test sets)

• Understanding of high speed signaling, transmission lines, digital and analog design

• Experience designing and debugging hardware

• Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools

Pay Range:

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00
