At Ciena, this role plays a critical part in strengthening the quality, consistency, and business value of enterprise data. As the Lead for Data Quality, you will shape how data is governed and used across the organization—driving meaningful impact through trusted data, stronger platforms, and improved decision‑making.

How you will make an impact:

• Partner with data owners, stewards, and business leaders to define priorities for data quality and data catalog initiatives.
• Serve as the connection point between business teams and IT to ensure cohesive and efficient execution of data quality programs.
• Guide functions on data quality practices including data classification, retention, and lifecycle management.
• Lead complex data quality and catalog projects across Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.
• Maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation activities while ensuring alignment with established methodologies.
• Drive change management strategies that help stakeholders adopt new processes and recognize the value of data quality initiatives.
• Define, track, and refine key performance indicators for data quality, with focus on completeness, duplication, and reliability of critical data domains.

The must haves:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, information systems, project management, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data management with demonstrated project leadership.
• Hands‑on experience working with data in Oracle ERP and Salesforce CRM, including knowledge of data models and integrations.
• Strong understanding of data management principles including governance, stewardship, privacy, and security.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear, data‑driven project requirements.
• Experience resolving data defects such as duplicates, incomplete records, and inconsistent master data across ERP and CRM systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support collaboration with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Nice to haves:

• Experience within hi‑tech or telecommunications domains such as supply chain, accounting, sales, or services.
• Experience managing cross‑system master data flows between Oracle ERP and Salesforce CRM.
• Proficiency with data quality tools including Informatica Data Quality, Talend, or IBM Info Sphere, and data catalog solutions such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica Axon.
• Knowledge of data governance practices including metadata management, data lineage, and data privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
