About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will:
· Own and drive the design and implementation of security solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.
· Develop and enhance governance frameworks and uplift the maturity of existing security capabilities.
· Act as the SME, providing strategic direction and technical leadership across systems, applications, and data security.
· Lead and mentor a growing team of engineers and technical specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll translate that vision into action by:
· Design and deliver scalable security solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
· Oversee operational and strategic uplift initiatives across hybrid environments.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into enterprise architecture and transformation programs.
· Monitor emerging threats and technologies to continuously improve the organisations’ security posture.
About You
· Proven experience in cyber security leadership roles, ideally within financial services or regulated industries.
· Strong expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and on-prem infrastructure.
· Demonstrated success in leading security uplift programs and managing technical teams.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
You communicate clearly and confidently, whether leading a project , meeting and working with customers, briefing executives, or collaborating with external partners, and you value authenticity, accountability, and curiosity in your leadership style.
You will have:
· Australian Citizenship
· Already acquired NSW Security Installers license
· Ability to obtain NV1 Government Security Clearance
You will also bring:
· Tertiary qualifications in cyber security, information technology, or a related field, plus certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
· Proven success leading technical teams .
· Strong experience with Microsoft M365, Azure, Windows Server/Desktop, Proofpoint (or similar), AWS, and associated security tools.
· Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to lead complex incident management activities.
