This position ensures compliance with environmental regulations through data collection, analysis, and reporting, while providing guidance and support to internal teams on environmental issues specific to Central Operations. The role supported various environmental media, including air, water, waste, and biodiversity. The Environmental Reporting Analyst reports to the Environmental Team Lead in Chevron ENGINE in Bengaluru, India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on the applicability of environmental regulations for air, water, and waste, and evaluate alternatives to meet compliance requirements.
  • Ensure data collection methods and practices comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards
  • Record and organize collected data systematically ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Analyze data trends and patterns to identify potential environmental issues and non-compliance.
  • Prepare reports to demonstrate compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Facilitate compliance with environmental permits, monitoring, reporting, and notifications, and coordinate with external contractors and laboratories as needed.
  • Serve as support to the applicable BU for regulatory agency requests and audits and communicate the company's positions on regulatory issues and actions.
  • Support the management of environmental incidents, spills, remediation, and emergency response, and report to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams, to provide environmental guidance and support.
  • Provide effective training for internal and external stakeholders on environmental data reporting and best practices.
  • Perform quality reviews of environmental data and reports for issues and gaps.
  • Manage and analyze end-to-end geospatial datasets—creating and validating facility polygons, performing IBAT (WDPA, KBA) overlays using BMAT (Arc Py) in ArcGIS Pro, assessing environmental sensitivities, enhancing BMAT Python toolbox automation, and producing high‑quality maps and Map Hub updates to support compliance, biodiversity risk evaluation, and enterprise geospatial decision‑making

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental reporting, compliance, or permitting in the oil and gas industry, refinery, or manufacturing facility.
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting methods and tools to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Familiar with local, state and federal environmental regulations and reporting requirements, and able to communicate and coordinate with regulatory agencies effectively.
  • Able to provide environmental guidance and support to internal customers, such as operations, maintenance, capital projects, technical, and HSE teams.
  • Able to conduct quality reviews of environmental data and reports and identify and resolve issues and gaps.
  • Experience with DevOps concepts and tools, including workflow automation, Git, and cloud storage (Azure Blob).
  • Experience managing end-to-end geospatial datasets, including creation, validation, and maintenance of spatial layers and facility polygons.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Map Hub and Arc Py-based tools for geoprocessing, spatial automation, and map production.
  • Minimal to no travel is required.
