Engineering Contracts Coordinator

about the position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Contracts Coordinator to join the Project Design Engineering team. Reporting to the Project Design Engineering Manager, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Operational & business requirements will require occasional business travel and out of hours working.
key responsibilities
The Engineering Contracts Coordinator is an influential leadership role with a primary focus on aligning with and executing Chevron’s engineering management strategy by leveraging workshare using third party engineering services within India to deliver predictable, cost effective and quality projects.
- Lead tactical business development and opportunity work intake from Chevron’s facilities worldwide to deliver technical scopes and projects scaling from small ( 250 million USD).
- Ensure consistent line of sight into contractor utilization and resource allocation to support long-term development and retainment of dedicated engineers working Chevron projects.
- Align closely with Chevron’s central Engineering Management organization (based in Houston, USA) on strategic objectives, governance, competitive performance targets, and growing workshare utilization.
- Maintain strong partnerships and consistent line of sight with our preferred Workshare third-party engineering firms by monitoring KPIs (key performance indicators) dashboards, engineering quality management, contractor performance, and tracking cost arbitrage.
- Drive capability assessments of third-party engineering firms’ regional facilities and lead strategic capability growth to support growing business demand.
- Consistently review resource capacity and resource loading plans for our third-party engineering partners; identifying opportunities and ensuring that utilization of core resources meets minimum targets to sustain continuity on Chevron projects. Oversee invoicing validation to ensure costs meet forecasts within proper variance.
- Provide consultation to Chevron’s regional businesses regarding contracting and engineering management strategy to meet their project delivery needs.
- Work closely with asset-facing project engineers at ENGINE for packaging scopes, generating manhour estimates, and allocating resources to enable timely execution and delivery of engineering products.
- Escalate and manage resolution of systemic performance and engineering quality issues.
- Expected domestic travel within India ~ 15 to 25%.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of third party engineering capabilities within India, who is a self-starter, has a growth mindset, thrives in a fast-paced technical and commercial environment, and enjoys combining coordination, engineering management, and problem solving.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- At minimum a bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering (B.E./B.Tech) functions (mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical, instrumentation/controls, etc.)
- Minimum 15 years work experience in engineering management, portfolio planning and project execution. Preferred – direct experience in third-party engineering firms and/or Oil and Gas majors.
- Experienced in onshore and/or offshore facilities engineering design as it relates to one or more of the following: Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Startup and Operations.
- Strong knowledge of engineering service contracts, resource planning, and time & labor estimating.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Flexibility in work schedule to support global customers in various time zones.
