Chevron’s Business Support Center (BASSC), located in Buenos Aires, is accepting applications for the position of Software Engineer – Service Now & Azure DevOps Automation. Successful candidates will join the IT Organization, which is part of a multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1800 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with hands-on experience in Service Now platform development and Azure DevOps (ADO) to build and maintain scalable solutions that enhance CMDB data quality, enable effective Service Mapping, and support ITSM/ITOM processes. The role involves developing and optimizing Service Now features such as Scripted REST APIs, Business Rules, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub, while leveraging ADO for version control, work item management, automated testing, and CI/CD pipeline execution. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with product owners and platform teams to ensure accurate modeling of application and infrastructure services, deliver secure and well-documented solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement of platform reliability and data integrity.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to

  • Engineer Service Now features(Scripted REST APIs, Business Rules, Flow Designer, Integration Hub) that enrich CMDB and enable *Service Mapping at scale.

  • *Design and maintain application‑service models (CIs, relationships, service topologies) and implement patterns to keep them accurate through change and release cycles.

  • Build integrations to ingest/relate configuration and asset data from source systems (e.g., discovery tools or asset aggregation platforms) to automate relationship creation and reduce manual effort.

  • Use DevOps practices (e.g., Azure DevOps or equivalent) for version control, work items, automated testing, and gated deployments to sub‑prod/prod.

  • Partner with platform and application teams to prioritize mapping targets, validate inventories, and resolve data quality gaps; document decisions, runbooks, and job aids.

  • Monitor platform health and mapping success metrics; troubleshoot integration and data lineage issues end‑to‑end with a bias for root‑cause fixes.

  • Uphold secure‑by‑default practices (least privilege, secrets management), including governance for clone/upgrade events affecting CMDB and mappings.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, including1+ years building on *Service Now (server‑side JavaScript/Glide, Scripted REST, Business Rules, Flow Designer/Integration Hub).
  • Hands‑on delivery of Service Mapping and CMDB modeling (application services, relationships, discovery/mapping patterns) in production environments.

  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or equivalent), Git branching strategies, and automated testing for Service Now updates.

  • Strong API engineering skills (REST, webhooks), data modeling, and debugging across integrations and platform components.

  • Clear technical writing and stakeholder communication; ability to translate requirements into actionable epics/stories with acceptance criteria.
