We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to join our finance team, playing a crucial role in the month-end closing process of designated area for multiple markets. This position will support the Manager in Financial Accounting & Reporting, ensuring quality service and specializing in key financial closing activities.
Financial Accounting & Reporting related:
-
Perform monthly financial closing tasks on certain financial activities/tasks such as fixed assets, lease accounting, bank reconciliation, etc as assigned by the Assistant Manager.

Assist Manager/Assistant Manager on month-end closing, such as adjustment journals, depreciation journals, reclass the entries, etc, balance sheet breakdown preparation and global reporting submission and other daily operation matter.

Support Assistant Manager in financial statements preparation, which include but not limited to plan & perform local stock count, cycle count review, physical asset audit & disposal of assets.

Handle local specific procedures to comply with local regulatory requirements, example: statistics

Able to apply relevant local statutory reporting and accounting standards (e.g. IFRS) required in the preparation process of accounting books (e.g. period-end adjustments, month-end period closing and reporting, reconciliation between General Ledger and Sub-Ledgers)

Handle enquiries from external parties (e.g. auditor, tax agent) and business users.

Demonstrate understanding in the definition, hierarchy, maintenance and updates of CHANEL’s Chart of Accounts

Escalate inappropriate behaviour / activities (e.g. professional / ethical misconduct, non-compliance with policies), if any

Able to articulate system issues clearly to subject matter experts to ensure solutions can be identified and implemented

Comfortable with learning new system tools & Able to adopt technological tools in business processes to meet job requirements
Academic/Professional Qualifications
· Diploma or above in Accounting or equivalent
· Student member or member of professional accounting bodies (e.g. ACCA or equivalent professional bodies)
Work Experience
-
Minimum 5 years working experience.

Experience with Retail company preferred
-
Solid expertise / operational know-how of month end closing processes and understanding of market specificities

Experience in operational know-how of all other finance processes are an advantage
-
Proficient in both oral and written English is a must.
