Job Description

At CD PROJEKT RED, we’ve built our legacy on rich worlds and storytelling from the epic tales of The Witcher to the dystopian future of Cyberpunk 2077. Now, we’re setting out on the next journey: to create a completely new IP which is Project Hadar. It is shaped by the same passion, quality, and vision that define everything we do.

We’re looking for people eager to bring their experience into something new and still taking form, those unafraid of creative exploration and bold decisions, teammates who want to make a meaningful impact on an emerging world.

If you know Unreal Engine architecture well, are comfortable moving between disciplines, have solid experience in low level C++ and are experienced performance profiler and optimizer, we want to hear from you! As part of the engineering team you will have the opportunity for laying the foundations of a brand new CDPR project. You’ll be taking part in the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of game engine systems or pipelines. You’ll work closely with gameplay and quest designers, engineers, and other specialists to build the tech that drives our games and develop innovative features.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of related core systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and quality.
• Developing tools and debug utilities to streamline development.
• Collaborating with game designers, animators, writers and other specialists to create a believable world.
• Partnering with design, QA, production, and other teams to define technical scope, timelines, and priorities.
• Debugging, profiling, and resolving technical challenges across large-scale systems.
• Conducting code reviews and maintaining clean, modular, and maintainable code.
• Defining and documenting technical standards.
• Collaborating on rapid prototyping, R&D, and testing new technologies and ideas.

Qualifications

• Min 4 years of programming experience with a strong track record in AA/AAA game projects.
• Experience in successfully shipping at least one game.
• Expertise in C++ coding principles and practices, with experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
• Strong understanding of game engine architecture, algorithms, and multi-threaded systems.
• Solid debugging skills and experience resolving complex technical issues.
• Familiarity with Visual Studio and tools pipelines to enhance developer workflows.
• Willingness to exchange constructive feedback in a respectful environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to ownership, knowledge-sharing, and driving initiatives independently.
• Passion for professional growth and staying updated on industry trends.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Familiarity with agile ways of working.
• We appreciate curiosity, adaptability, and team spirit!

As a plus:

• Mentoring experience is a plus.
