Job Title:
Finance Analyst – Business Controlling
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and business‑oriented Finance Analyst to join CBRE’s Finance team. In this role, you will act as a key financial partner to the business, supporting decision‑making through high‑quality analysis, forecasting, and financial insights. While the position sits within our Financial Strategy & Operations function, the focus is strongly on business controlling, stakeholder collaboration, and driving financial performance—more than on traditional accounting.
You will still apply core accounting principles when needed, but your main contribution will be to evaluate financial performance, support strategic planning, and ensure high‑quality reporting across a complex portfolio of CBRE clients and properties.
What You’ll Do
Business Controlling & Financial Analysis (Primary focus):
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes across your portfolio.
- Provide clear financial insights, trends and performance drivers to business and operations leaders.
- Partner closely with operational stakeholders to support decision-making, identify risks/opportunities, and drive financial performance.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality financial presentations and reporting packages to internal and external stakeholders.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Produce complete and accurate client financial reports according to deadlines and standards.
- Ensure consistency and quality in financial deliverables, KPIs, benchmarks, and performance metrics.
- Respond to and resolve inquiries from management and clients related to financial performance, reporting, and analysis.
Accounting Activities (Light-moderate scope):
- Oversee key accounting entries and review posted transactions for accuracy (expenses, receipts, distributions, etc.).
- Review funding and payment requests for accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Identify potential issues/conflicts and proactively recommend corrective actions.
Ways of Working & Impact:
- Work within established frameworks while contributing ideas to enhance processes and reporting quality.
- Explain complex financial information in a clear and understandable way to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Act as a role model for CBRE’s RISE values and collaborate to raise the performance of the broader team.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 2–5 years of relevant experience in business controlling, financial analysis, FP&A, or similar roles.
(A combination of education and experience will also be considered.) - Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle moderately complex financial challenges.
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and a naturally curious mindset.
- Ability to build strong business relationships and work closely with stakeholders in operations and finance.
- Advanced numerical skills and the ability to work confidently with financial calculations.
