As the Estimator you will develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for the low-voltage systems in large-scale hyperscale data center projects, analyzing blueprints and specifications to determine material, labor, and other costs.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for low‑voltage and data center systems, including:
• Structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A, fiber backbone)
• Telecom rooms / MPOE infrastructure
• Data center cabling pathways (overhead cable tray, underfloor systems)
• Rack/stack and patching requirements
• Access control (ACS), CCTV, intrusion detection
• AV and communications systems
• Paging and emergency communication systems
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, BIM models, and design documents.
• Prepare labor productivity assumptions based on installation complexity, cable routing, and site conditions.
• Develop cost breakdowns for materials, equipment, subcontractors, commissioning, and testing.
• Maintain current pricing databases for cable, termination hardware, racks, cabinets, PDUs, patch panels, and related components.
• Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and scope alignment.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards (Panduit, Corning, Comm Scope, Leviton, etc.).
• Evaluate proposals for material lead times and alternates to optimize cost and schedule.
• Support design-assist, design-build, and value engineering efforts for data center and technology projects.
• Provide budgetary estimates during conceptual and schematic design phases.
• Identify risks related to system compatibility, scalability, or owner technology requirements.
• Assist in building project schedules, installation sequencing, and long‑lead procurement strategies.
• Prepare detailed estimate summaries, assumptions, and clarifications for internal review and client presentation.
• Assist in developing RFP response content, bid packages, and pricing exhibits.
• Document design changes and update cost models as project scope evolves.
