Work for a Global Leader in Property – Winner Commercial Agency of the Year Portfolio management for one large government client Melbourne | Land of the Wurundjeri people

CBRE is seeking a highly experienced and strategic property professional to lead the end-to-end management of a key state government portfolio — a diverse, high profile mix of owned and leased assets underpinning Victoria’s transport and communications network.
As Director, you will provide operational leadership across leasing, governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement and portfolio optimisation, while guiding a high-performing team of property specialists. This is a pivotal client facing role with substantial scope to influence commercial outcomes, risk management, compliance and long-term strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day to day property and lease management for the portfolio.
  • Oversee lease events including options, renewals, variations and rent reviews.
  • Ensure WHS, risk, compliance and building safety requirements are met.
  • Resolve operational and lease related issues with Facilities and Asset Management.
  • Lead budgeting, financial performance monitoring, outgoings and arrears.
  • Provide financial insights to support leasing and strategic decisions.
  • Act as primary client contact and build strong tenant/government relationships.
  • Produce accurate portfolio reporting and maintain data integrity in CBRE systems.
  • Lead, coach and support the property management team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Senior-level experience in commercial property management, ideally with government, institutional or multi-site portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and retail leasing, associated legislation and disclosure requirements.
  • Experience with State Government land transaction policy (desirable but not essential).
  • Proven capability in budgeting, forecasting, arrears management, rent reviews and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to governance, risk and compliance.
  • Real Estate Certificate of Registration / Licence as required.
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
