About the Opportunity
The data center industry is currently at the center of a global infrastructure supercycle, driven by the expansion of AI and cloud computing. As we build the backbone of the digital economy, our success depends entirely on the readiness of our people. We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Designer to join a dedicated, people-centered team where your work directly impacts the safety and skill of a high-volume workforce. This is an opportunity to move beyond theory and build tangible training systems in a high-growth, rewarding technical environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture and management of full-scale training programs for technical audiences. We need a professional who can lead a project from the initial problem-solving phase through to a final, validated curriculum. You will work side-by-side with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) in the field to turn complex technical operations into clear, repeatable learning paths.
What You'll Do:
- Architect and manage full-scale curriculum programs, including design documents, instructor guides, participant manuals, and assessments.
- Create hands-on exercises and lab environments that simulate real-world technical tasks and "break/fix" scenarios.
- Design and execute pilot tests and course evaluations to measure training effectiveness and provide data-driven reports to leadership.
- Partner directly with technical experts to extract critical knowledge and translate it into structured, scalable learning strategies.
- Develop a comprehensive suite of training artifacts, including high-quality slide decks, reference guides, and job aids.
- Integrate a variety of instructional methods into the curriculum, ranging from traditional classroom instruction to electronic learning tools and media.
- Maintain development schedules for high-volume work streams, ensuring all documentation and course folders are organized and current.
What You'll Need:
- 5 – 7+ years of instructional design experience, with a proven track record in technical, industrial, or high-stakes corporate environments.
- At least 3 years of experience specifically architecting complex instructor-led (ILT) and on-the-job (OJT) programs.
- Minimum of 3 years in a consultative or client-facing role, with demonstrated success in managing stakeholder expectations and navigating complex project requirements.
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Learning Sciences is highly desired; Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- Professional mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for the creation of structured, enterprise-grade training artifacts.
- Demonstrated experience applying adult learning theory to high-volume workforce initiatives where scalability and performance consistency are critical.
- Experience designing end-to-end evaluation strategies (e.g., Kirkpatrick Level 2 & 3) to measure behavioral change and technical proficiency.
- Ability to work onsite in a data center or office environment as needed.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to collaborate with technical teams and observe field operations.
- Strong writing and presentation skills with a proven ability to simplify complex technical information for learners.
