Welcome to the future of cloud networking and security!
Cato Networks is the first company to converge enterprise networking and security into one centralized and global service that is delivered by cloud. It is led by networking and security pioneer Shlomo Kramer (Check Point, Imperva) and early investor (Palo Alto Networks, Exabeem, Trusteer and more). Cato’s unique technology inspired a brand-new product category, later named “SASE” by Gartner and a market expected to reach $28.5 billion by 2028.
This is your opportunity to get on the rocket ship and join a company that is building a cutting-edge enterprise network and secure cloud platform, and is on a fast track to becoming the worldwide market leader – don’t miss it!
We are looking for an Automation Infrastructure Engineer to join our Automation Infra team and take a key role in designing, scaling, and maintaining the infrastructure that enables all automated testing across Cato R&D.
In this role, you will own significant parts of our CI/CD ecosystem, lab environments (Cloud and On-Prem), and automation tooling. You will architect and implement infrastructure solutions that support complex end-to-end testing of a distributed networking and security platform.
Our test environments span multi-layer networking topologies, cloud deployments, ESX-based virtualization, dynamic traffic flows, and advanced security rule engines.
This position requires strong technical depth, broad domain proficiency, and the ability to work across multiple infrastructure areas simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and architect automation infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines, integration layers, execution frameworks, and lab-side services.
-
Build and maintain scalable, reproducible test environments across AWS, Azure, and ESX, including networking, compute, storage, and automation layers.
-
Develop advanced tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Python, Java) to automate provisioning, orchestration, and lifecycle management of test environments.
-
Improve reliability and performance of CI/CD workflows, execution pipelines, and environment creation processes.
-
Collaborate with automation engineers and developers to define infrastructure requirements and deliver solutions that accelerate product validation.
-
Troubleshoot complex systemic issues across cloud, networking, virtualization, automation frameworks, CI/CD, and distributed services.
-
Drive best practices for infrastructure automation, observability, scalability, and operational excellence.
Requirements
-
3+ years of experience in Automation Infrastructure, DevOps, or similar hands-on infrastructure engineering roles.
-
Strong coding ability in Java or Python
-
Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
-
Strong proficiency with Linux.
-
Strong background in CI/CD systems, pipelines, and tooling — must.
-
Experience working with REST APIs, automation workflows, and integration patterns.
-
Ability to work effectively across multiple infrastructure domains in a dynamic environment.
-
Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-
Academic degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
-
Motivation to support R&D teams and improve engineering efficiency.
Advantages
-
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
-
Experience with automated testing of multi-layered or distributed systems.
-
Understanding networking fundamentals (Layers 2–3, routing, switching, virtualization networking).
-
Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks.
