We are seeking an experienced Senior Platform Software Engineer to join our team in Prague, Czech Republic. In this key role, you will develop our data platform, working on cloud-based microservices data pipelines. As we are building the company data platform, it has direct impact on our customers and also enabled many of the other groups in the organization. You will also be responsible for building microservices that need to work on big data scale (about 250K records/sec) in a low latency as part of a dynamic scrum team of five.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development

• Lead the development of new features, infrastructure improvement, and cost reduction projects - from design to implementation, testing and deployment

• Implement with consistent coding patterns with a focus on performance and stability

Teamwork

• Attend and participate in team/group meetings and periodic syncs

• Help teammates to solve problems.

• Conduct code reviews, participate in design reviews.

On-Call Duty (weekly cycle).

• Respond/troubleshoot incidents.

• Fix newly found bugs from customer escalations.

• First responder to version bugs.

• Deploy data components in production.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of backend development experience with Data affinity.

• Proven experience in high-performance environments and benchmark evaluation.

• Expertise in architecture, design, and development of data pipelines and high-scale storage.

• Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes is a strong advantage.

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Data Dog is an advantage.

• Familiarity with Cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) is an advantage.

• Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.

• Self-learner with the ability to acquire new skills and technologies quickly.

• Motivated, fast learner, independent, and adept at problem-solving.

• BSc in Computer Science from a recognized university.
