JOB PURPOSE:To spearhead the design and development of complex, major engineering product or process projects in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality and serviceability.

JOB DUTIES: The Senior Design Engineer is accountable for the complete design and development of new products inline with the requirements.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following:

• Leads the overall genset electrical package design, development, integration
• Provide guidance to other team members on electrical design and integration to ensure all requirements are met with regards to Quality, Velocity and Cost.
• Takes ownership of technical deliverables and work closely with subject matter experts to ensure high quality deliverables.
• Develop flexible panel and wiring architectures for rapid development and test across platforms
• Leads supplier collaboration from engineering side. Works closely with cross-functional teams in development of the product.
• Understand technical requirements and creatively solves engineering problems
• Creates a vision for use of Analysis and Simulation tools to compliment the physical testing of controllers and Gensets.

Required Qualification:

· Proven technical leadership and experience in the design and development of electrical systems related to Genset control panel design, Component selection and placement, Wiring harness, Schematics development

· Hands on experience with various tools and processes like: CREO, Team centre, DFMEA, Part number creation and release process

· Experience of Diesel / Gas genset or similar automobile/machine products design, development, testing and certifications.

· Understanding of International standards like ISO8528, UL2200, UL489

· Must have thorough knowledge of the design and working of one or more of the following- AC Generators (Alternators), Voltage Regulators, Genset Controllers, Circuit Breakers, Digital & Analog I/O modules and communication protocols (CAN, ethernet, RS232).

· Must be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications:

· Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with more than 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 10-12 years of relevant experience.

Additional information: This job required 5days working from office.
