Caterpillar is looking to add a Communications Specialist to our Construction Industries Supply Management team (CISM). CISM manages the end-to-end supply management solutions for our Construction Industries segment. This position is responsible for delivering strategic, internal communications plans in support of division goals, supporting our top strategic priorities, and serving as a business partner ensuring clear, thoughtful messaging for our employees and key stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong writing, presentation skills and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and advising on the suitability of approaches for communication efforts.
- Tracking and analyzing metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications.
- Creating content for employee communication channels; ensuring that messaging and branding is consistent across all channels.
- Developing and distributing communications materials, such as written communications, presentation materials, etc. to deliver key messages.
What you will have:
- Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.
- Establishing and Maintaining Trust: Knowledge of developing and maintaining trust; ability to develop trusting relationships and provide solicited, respected and valued perspectives to clients/peers that guide thinking, facilitate issue resolution and enhance client/peer capabilities.
- Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Copywriting and Editing: Knowledge of copywriting and editing; ability to write, review and edit texts and documents.
- Internal Communications: Knowledge of techniques for internal communications; ability to produce and distribute news, newsletters and other communications materials targeted at the employees.
Successful Candidates Will Also Have:
- Degree in Communications, Political Science, Journalism or equivalent.
- Experience engaging, advising, and collaborating with senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic support with communication efforts.
- Proficiency with the Office 365 suite of tools including PowerPoint, Share Point, Viva Engage, etc. Experience working with graphic design and creative layouts. Video editing experience is a plus.

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
