About IPSD:
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary:
As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of multiple complex production lines, preparing schedules, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for managing a Team of 15 to 20 Team Members with diverse job rolls that could include Maintenance, Quality and Operations.
What You Will Do:
- Creating daily production reports that describes the Team’s performance VS the targets. You will
share them with managers and provide suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality

Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to Operator training certifications. Driving safety and quality standards

Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.

Training new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
What You Will Have:Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Performance Management:** Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.**
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.**
Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.**

This position is located in San Antonio, TX and requires a 5-day-a-week onsite schedule.

Onsite Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00pm - 6:00am CST (7% Shift Premium!)

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
