Role Definition.
The owner of this position is responsible for maintaining and ensuring compliance with the key processes in SAP, providing support to users regarding the functionality of the system, analyzes and solves problems, supports improvements in current processes and executes the necessary activities, so how to give the necessary support in new developments or implementations, for their compliance and correct execution in SAP for all CBS & CGM plants in Mexico (9 plants)
What you will do:
- Analyze the current administrative processes in the company and implement improvements, to solve problems or facilitate the processes for SAP users
- Provide daily support to SAP users and the administrative and/or productive areas to contribute to the correct execution and ensure the solution of SAP problems in a timely and proper way
- The relationship of this position is Caterpillar suppliers; it is necessary for the position to have a percentage of advanced English to carry out conversations or training required to comply with material management processes
- Support the training and knowledge assessment of new and/or current users of SAP in case the area responsible does not have any experienced members, to ensure understanding of the system and have qualified personnel within the company
- Develop training material, roles and job profiles for SAP users
- Carry out the corresponding activities, according to your role, to comply with the policies and practices established by Caterpillar, regarding safety, health and environmental protection
- Work internally with supervisors and managers in relation to areas of improvement in SAP and/or to coordinate solving problems, with personnel from the areas of purchasing, traffic, logistics planning, accounts payable, PCC and receiving, to give feedback on compliance with processes and establish action plans for improvement and daily compliance with processes

The main decisions reserved by the owner are evaluation and analysis of the changes proposed by CBS, compliance with the guidelines established by sox, changes in the sap system based on the needs of the different areas, support for improvement projects, definition of roles based on the activities of the end users in their area of responsibility.
Degree Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in International Relations, Computer Engineering or similar
- English advanced
Skills you will have
Core Application Systems:
- Daily management of Interfaces & EDI within SAP for the correct process of PO’s, Daily releases, ASN’s, MRC
Problem Solving:
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem‑solving skills supported by functional SAP knowledge (preferably acquired as an LPA, Purchasing Analyst, or Logistics Analyst).
- Functional knowledge of SAP to interpret transactions, analyze document flows, identify system issues, and propose effective solutions aligned with operational needs and Material Management best practices.
Implementation:
- Collaborates closely with CBS and GIS teams to support the implementation of new functionalities and enhancements in existing SAP processes, ensuring proper alignment with business requirements and successful execution across all involved areas
Requirements Analysis:
- Analyzes current administrative and supply chain processes to identify optimization opportunities, solve system‑related issues, or simplify workflows for SAP end users.
- Understand key supply chain functions—purchasing, traffic, PCC, and logistics planning—and apply SAP functional knowledge to translate business needs into accurate system requirements.

- Work schedule: Monday – Friday on site
