Develops and supports enterprise system solutions for Caterpillar IT applications and ERP/Digital transformation initiatives. Acts as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor across multiple business process workstreams, ensuring solution quality, compliance, and long‑term business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME and trusted advisor for multiple enterprise business process workstreams.
  • Lead and participate in workshops to validate business requirements for the Order Navigation Experience (deployed on SAP commerce platform), ERP touchpoints, and dealer‑facing solutions.
  • Review and approve solution designs, including prototypes, configurations, testing, and documentation.
  • Validate process documentation delivered as part of enterprise template solutions.
  • Review and approve test plans and end‑user training materials for new releases and deployments.
  • Provide Level 4 case management support, partnering with IT suppliers on root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise governance requirements, including cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, SOx, sustainability, and IT General Controls.
  • Provides functional direction, reviews deliverables, and contributes input to performance feedback for analysts and consultants.
  • Mentor business process analysts, digital product owners, and development/operations consultants.

  • Influences strategic business decisions and enterprise transformation outcomes.
  • Operates with broad autonomy within Caterpillar policies and long‑term objectives.
  • Balances short‑term delivery with long‑term business and customer value.

Problem Solving & Decision Making

  • Solves complex, unstructured problems with significant business impact.
  • Identifies relationships across disparate data and systems to develop innovative solutions.
  • Defines priorities, approaches, and execution plans for broadly defined initiatives.
  • Develops action plans aligned to two‑year execution horizons and three‑ to five‑year enterprise goals.
  • Applies AI‑assisted reasoning and advanced analytics to decompose complex routing and systems problems, explore solution trade‑offs, and accelerate decision‑ready insights while exercising strong human judgment.

Top Candidates Will Have

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to lead change without direct authority.
  • 6+ years of progressive IT experience in application/API development and/or application/API support.
  • 6+ years of experience with enterprise platforms, including:
  • Modern web applications (Java and/or .NET)
  • Configure Price Quote UX
  • PowerBI Reporting
  • Snowflake
  • SAP ERP
  • IBM Mainframe
  • Salesforce
  • 5+ years of experience with commerce platforms such as SAP Commerce Cloud / Hybris.
  • 5+ years of integration experience using ETL or connectivity tools (e.g., Data Stage, IIB, Snap Logic, Sterling Integrator, Apigee).
  • Experience supporting large‑scale ERP or digital transformation programs.

Additional Information

  • Travel: 15% - 25%

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
