About the role

We are currently searching for a Category Management Lead for Carrier Climate Solutions Europe who will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing in this region, managing over ~$1.5bn yearly spending, while leading a team of 20 category managers across Europe and reporting to the Head of Procurement. We therefore seek an individual with strong influential leadership skills, the ability to thrive and remain resilient in dynamic environments and execute their tasks with high precision focus. This role can be filled in various of our locations across Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy & Target Achievement: Develop and execute a globally aligned category strategy and long‑range plan within the region, as well as deliver category targets across cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. Align with cross‑functional stakeholders (R&D, Product Lines, Quality, Operations) and regional/global category counterparts to ensure consistent strategy deployment

  • Supplier Management & Development: Drive end‑to‑end supplier management and development while securing contractual requirements and run continuous, data‑driven negotiations to achieve above‑market conditions. Additionally leading technical and commercial cost optimization through innovation and monitoring global procurement markets, trends, and indices

  • Risk Management & Supply Continuity: Identify and mitigate supply risk by building resiliency via multi‑sourcing, safety stock, and alternates, as well as partnering with Quality and Operations on prevention and recovery actions

  • Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing (ESG): Integrate ESG requirements into sourcing decisions and drive supplier sustainability improvements

  • Digital Procurement & Analytics: Champion e‑sourcing, e‑auctions, analytics, and dashboards, as well as leverage cost models and market intelligence

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Enablement: Ensure early supplier involvement and guide NPI/NPD sourcing to meet targets

  • Team Leadership: Provide functional and disciplinary leadership, develop and grow the team, while ensuring a consistent pipeline of talents, and promote best practices as well as standardized ways of working

Requirements:

  • Master's degree within engineering, business or an equivalent field

  • 15+ years leadership experience in comparable roles

  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead by influence, as well as change‑management & transformation leadership skills

  • Experience in executive stakeholder management

  • Ability to navigate in a complexity driven environment with an entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking, and financial acumen

  • Passion for industry and technical matters
