From the beginning, we've led in inventing new technologies and entirely new industries. Today, we continue to lead because we have a world-class, diverse workforce that puts the customer at the center of everything we do.
About the role
As a Logistics Project Management Specialist, you will play a key role in leading and delivering cross-functional logistics initiatives that improve cost, service, safety, and sustainability across Carrier’s network. You will manage end-to-end projects across packaging, warehousing, transportation, and logistics systems, translating opportunities into measurable business results. This role offers broad exposure, high visibility, and the opportunity to directly impact how Carrier serves its customers.
Key Responsibilities
As a Logistics Project Management Specialist, you’ll be responsible for:
-
Leading complex, multi-site logistics projects using structured project management methodologies, including scope, timeline, budget, risk, and change control.
-
Developing project charters, detailed plans, status reports, and facilitating governance routines and stage-gate reviews.
-
Building business cases with financial modeling, savings validation, payback analysis, and tracking benefits realization post-implementation.
-
Driving packaging optimization initiatives focused on cost reduction, damage prevention, sustainability, and cube utilization in collaboration with Packaging Engineering, Quality, and suppliers.
-
Standardizing packaging specifications and material handling methods across plants and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
-
Leading warehouse improvement initiatives such as layout optimization, slotting, labor standards, picking/packing efficiency, and inbound/outbound flow improvements.
-
Supporting WMS/TMS enhancements and integrations in partnership with IT and operations teams.
-
Mapping current-state processes, designing future-state solutions, and executing transition and stabilization plans.
-
Leveraging data analytics and operational KPIs (service, cost, quality, safety) to identify opportunities and monitor performance.
-
Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Quality, IT, Customer Service) to implement sustainable solutions.
-
Preparing executive-level updates, recommendations, and risk mitigation plans while ensuring compliance with Carrier policies and code of ethics.
Requirements
We are looking for people who are analytical, proactive, collaborative, and results-driven, with a strong ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
As a minimum you must have:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
-
2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing operations, or logistics systems.
-
1+ year of experience leading cross-functional projects or continuous improvement initiatives.
-
Working knowledge of transportation policies and optimization strategies across modes.
-
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MS Excel; exposure to Power BI or similar tools preferred.
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and deliver against timelines.
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:
-
Experience collaborating with Packaging Engineering on damage reduction or cost optimization projects.
-
Hands-on experience with WMS/TMS enhancements or implementations.
-
Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and standard work.
-
Experience using project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or Confluence.
-
Exposure to 3PL management, warehouse design/slotting, or distribution center start-ups.
Benefits
We are committed to offering competitive benefits programs for all of our employees and enhancing our programs when necessary.
-
Have peace of mind and body with our health insurance
-
