About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Science Specialist to join our AI delivery team in a strategic technical leadership role. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical thought leader, driving innovation in our AI initiatives while mentoring teams and architecting complex solutions across multiple business domains. He/she will be responsible for tackling our most challenging technical problems, establishing best practices, and providing technical direction that shapes our overall AI strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and lead the development of sophisticated machine learning solutions for our most complex and high-impact business challenges, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and business value

• Drive technical decision-making across multiple AI initiatives, providing expertise in selecting appropriate methodologies, frameworks, and approaches for different use cases

• Establish technical standards and best practices for the entire data science practice, including model development, evaluation criteria, and deployment strategies

• Serve as the principal technical advisor to senior leadership on AI capabilities, limitations, and strategic opportunities

• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging AI technologies and assess their potential impact on business objectives

• Design and implement novel machine learning approaches when standard solutions prove insufficient for complex business problems

• Provide technical oversight for critical AI projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and alignment with architectural standards

• Mentor and guide senior data scientists, helping them grow their technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities

• Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to ensure AI solutions align with broader technical strategies and standards

• Lead technical reviews and provide architectural guidance for complex AI solutions across multiple teams

• Drive research initiatives to explore cutting-edge AI techniques and their practical applications in business contexts

• Develop frameworks and methodologies for evaluating and mitigating AI risks, including bias, fairness, and ethical considerations

Requirements

• • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field strongly preferred

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in applied data science and machine learning, with a proven track record of leading complex AI initiatives

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing novel machine learning approaches for unique business challenges

• Deep understanding of modern AI/ML architectures, including advanced neural networks, reinforcement learning, and generative AI

• Extensive experience with distributed computing, model optimization, and scaling AI solutions in production environments

• Strong background in mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and algorithmic complexity

• Proven ability to lead technical strategy and drive innovation in data science practices

• Experience architecting end-to-end ML solutions that integrate with complex enterprise systems

• Advanced expertise in multiple programming languages (Python, R, Java, Scala) and major deep learning frameworks

• Comprehensive understanding of MLOps practices and experience designing deployment architectures

• Track record of publishing research papers or patents in machine learning or related fields

• Outstanding communication skills with ability to influence technical direction at executive levels

• Demonstrated success in mentoring senior technical staff and building high-performing teams

• Deep knowledge of AI ethics, fairness considerations, and regulatory compliance requirements

• Experience with cloud-native architectures and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
