This includes from early ship definition, shipyard selection and contract negotiation, through to construction, commissioning and warranty and everything in between. In addition to building new ships, CCS plays an active role in supporting the existing fleet in operation, as well as identifying new innovations and emerging technologies to support the corporation’s sustainability goals.
Strategy & Business Services is made up of a team of individuals who share their expertise through strong partnerships to drive ways of working that directly contribute to the overall strategy and success of CCS. A key part of the team is our Program Management Office (PMO) who leverage insights to ensure our business processes, tools and ways of working are fit for purpose and build on best practice.
We’re seeking a dynamic Planning Data and Insights Analyst (Planning Analyst) to join our PMO team. This role will be based in Carnival House in Southampton, on a permanent basis.
We believe in the power of diversity to drive success, valuing a blend of backgrounds, experiences, and skills. If you're passionate about shipbuilding, let's talk. We're not just looking for qualifications on paper; we're searching for someone who can bring fresh ideas and a new perspective to our team, as well as our ships.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Planning Manager, we are seeking a Planning Data and Insights Analyst (Planning Analyst) to provide accurate, timely, and structured data that enables confident planning and effective decision making across the organisation. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our planning data landscape. This will include organising disparate data sources, modelling structured datasets, and delivering clear insights through high impact reporting. This role blends technical data capability with strong business partnering, supporting both immediate analytical needs and long term data maturity. This role will also have a business process lens, championing the review of processes and escalating where there may be gaps or inefficiency.
Key accountabilities include:
- Consolidate, clean, and structure data from multiple systems into reliable, coherent datasets.
- Build and maintain data models that support operational planning, reporting, and strategic insight.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the entire planning data ecosystem.
- Create and continuously improve dashboards, reports, and data products that provide clear and actionable insights.
- Translate complex data into digestible, user friendly outputs for stakeholders at all levels.
Requirements: What You Need to Succeed:
- Successful candidates will possess:
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and explain insights clearly
- Expert Power BI Skills
- Strong Excel, data modelling and data structuring experience
Our ideal candidates are those who possess not only the technical skills required for the role but also a passion for the industry and a keen eye for detail. Your professional certifications will be the foundation of your role within our team.
About You: The Ideal Candidate
You are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment yet is capable of working with a high degree of accuracy and accountability. Your qualifications are just the beginning; we're looking for team members who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our collective success.
You are more than just your CV. You're someone who:
- Loves working with data — especially turning messy or complex datasets into structured, meaningful models.
- Can bridge the gap between technical detail and business needs.
- Enjoys creating dashboards and analytical outputs that makes information easy to consume.
- Understands systems, data flows, and how to build a dependable analytical foundation for the future.
