Job Purpose and Impact:
The Senior Professional, Product Management role is responsible for owning highly complex technology and data platforms that enable enterprise-scale capabilities. This role drives customer and developer value by co-owning technical product vision and strategy for a modern data engineering and data product framework, identifying opportunities to solve complex platform and data problems, and translating that vision into clear product strategy and roadmaps. This position requires a highly technical Product Manager who partners closely with engineering leadership to influence architectural direction, platform standards, and long-term technical strategy for internal platforms used across the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- PRODUCT STRATEGY & DELIVERY: Owns product strategy and solution from discovery to delivery, and identifies business value and end user outcomes including key performance indicators and financial return on investment.
- BACKLOG MANAGEMENT: Maintains prioritization and refinement of the product backlog, deciding what to build and when, partnering with teams to estimate features, define requirements and collaborate on a product roadmap based on the team's capacity.
- PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Serves as a product functional owner, bringing new technology and data products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return on investment analyses and addressing product team questions.
- MARKET INSIGHTS: Analyzes market and competitive conditions to pave a clear path toward the business value of the product and make that clear to the team that serves the customer.
- PRODUCT VIABILITY ASSESSMENT: Analyzes and addresses the critical product risks including value, usability, feasibility and business viability.
- PRODUCT PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION: Uses quantitative and qualitative data for detailed analysis to identify what to build or optimize.
- ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY CONTRIBUTIONS: Adheres to environmental contributions and sustainability goals of the organization while supporting the implementation and visibility of standard methodologies, processes and continuous improvement related to the product across the enterprise or group.
Qualifications:
- 4 + years of relevant work experience
- Experience supporting technology or data products, including applications, services, or platforms
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering and business stakeholders
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous and complex problem spaces
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience owning or contributing to data engineering platforms or frameworks for analytics or data products
- Strong technical fluency with the ability to:
- Understand system architecture and data flows
- Participate in technical strategy and design discussions
- Influence architectural and platform decisions
- Experience partnering closely with senior engineers, architects, or platform tech leads
- Familiarity with:
- Data pipelines and orchestration concepts
- Data modeling and transformation workflows
- Cloud-native platform patterns
- Experience supporting internal developer or engineering customers
