Job Purpose and Impact:
Cargill Chocolate Mouscron is looking for an EHS Specialist to strengthen our Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department. In this role, you will partner closely with the EHS Coordinator and play a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, protecting our people, and safeguarding the environment across our production activities. You will split your time between the field and administrative tasks, supporting both daily operations and long-term EHS initiatives.
You will report directly to the EHS Coordinator.
- Key Accountabilities
- Monitor regulatory developments related to health, safety, and the environment
- Conduct job risk assessments and environmental impact analyses, define control measures, and ensure their effectiveness
- Provide hands-on operational support to ensure EHS practices are correctly applied in production areas
- Follow up on and analyze incidents, accidents, and near misses; propose and track corrective actions
- Organize and deliver EHS training and awareness sessions for all employees
- Participate in multidisciplinary working groups to solve EHS-related challenges
- Manage and monitor compliance of safety and emergency equipment (PPE, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Support the administration of the EHS management system, including KPI monitoring, reporting, root cause analysis, and data encoding via Enablon
- Contribute to commissioning reports for new equipment
- Take part in internal and external audits
- Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS management systems such as ISO 14001
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) in EHS or equivalent
- Good knowledge of EHS regulations and food industry standards
- Minimum Prevention Advisor basic level certification (or equivalent), with willingness to obtain Prevention Advisor Level 2
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various teams
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and manage priorities effectively
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
- Proficiency with office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Good command of English
