This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.

Job Purpose and Impact:

The Senior Merchant will handle a supplier base and fulfill transactions delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. In this role, you will buy and sell commodities from and to country elevators, producers, feed mills and processors.

• Key Accountabilities
• Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution.
• Plan purchases and transportation to maximize profitable use of stock and storage facilities.
• Enter routine data and run specialty reports from our contract management databases and systems.
• Research and analyze various freight opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin.
• Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to meet their needs in solving routine problems and addressing complaints and concerns.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Proactively identify, evaluate, and pursue new commercial opportunities and flows in the domestic, cross-border, and Danube port markets.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the oilseeds complex, including seed oil, and meal markets. Be able to analyze market dynamics that drive pricing and trade flows.
• Be fully accountable for daily and monthly profit & loss (P&L) calculations, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Maintain and regularly update the country-level supply and demand (SnD) balance, integrating both internal and external market intelligence.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
