Job Purpose and Impact:
Join a collaborative and forward-thinking HR team where your expertise in employee and labor relations, along with your commitment to compliance, helps foster a positive and engaging workplace culture. The Senior Employee & Labor Relations specialist delivers employee & labor relations consultation and services for the Netherlands in accordance with the organization's employee & labor relations policies, legal, and regulatory requirements. With minimal supervision, this job develops and implements complex employee & labor relations policies and procedures and delivers employee & labor relations services, including coordinating complex processes, conducting investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and facilitating constructive dialogue with works council and trade union. This job also partners to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, assesses compliance programs, advises and guides managers and employees, and builds a positive employee experience.
- Key Accountabilities
- CONSULTATION & SERVICE EXECUTION: Resolves complex employee and labor relations questions and provides relevant and effective execution of employee and labor relations services for the Netherlands by applying best practices, interpreting laws and regulations, providing recommendations and consultative support, and maintaining knowledge of employee and labor relations policies and regulations.
- EMPLOYEE RELATIONS MATTERS: Delivers employee and labor relations services, including investigating and resolving employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts in a fair and timely manner, while assuring adherence to the organization's policies, programs, processes and legal requirements. Partners with legal counsel and external advisors on complex labor matters.
- LABOR RELATIONS MATTERS: Leads and facilitates communication and negotiations with employee representatives, developing strategies for proactive engagement and alignment with business and compliance goals.
- INVESTIGATIONS: Lead and reviews investigations of issues related to potential violations of employee and labor laws and regulations, ensures up-to-date records of the investigation process and outcomes, and maintains compliance with regulations governing the relationship between the organization and its employees.
- COMPLIANCE: Leads the identification and coordination of internal and external outreach, to enable businesses to meet their compliance obligations by ensuring accurate and up-to-date records related to employee and labor relations.
- TRAINING AND EDUCATION: Develops and delivers training and consultation on employee and labor relations and compliance related topics, policies, and procedures, ensuring internal partners apply the tools and resources available and align with organizational standards.
- POLICY DEVELOPMENT: Applies knowledge of laws and regulations and industry best practices, supporting the development of employee and labor relations policies and procedures to assure compliance.
- SEPARATIONS: Maintains and applies knowledge of separation legislation and processes in the Netherlands, including implementing separation activities and mentoring human resources and managers on separations processes, creating and managing applicable templates, and advice on options.
- RISK MITIGATION: Partners collaboratively with human resources and legal partners to assess and mitigate potential risks related to employee and labor relations issues, ensuring adherence to policy, legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring proactive measures are implemented to address any emerging concerns.
- BENCHMARKING: collaborate with relevant stakeholder groups to stay updated on labor regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in Employment & Labor Law is required.
- Forward looking, able to quickly prioritize and adjust, translates business plan to local country priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management towards key clients within the market on ER/LR matters.
- Demonstrates agility and ability to deal with competing priorities.
- Brings external labor market insights into internal strategy and has a strong view on external labor market.
- Fluency in Dutch is required.
