Job Purpose and Impact

We are seeking a senior-level AVEVA PI AF expert to architect, optimize, and lead the development of our enterprise PI System ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in PI Asset Framework (AF), PI Data Archive, PI Interfaces/Connectors, and integrations with IT/OT data systems.
The ideal candidate will drive data governance, AF modeling standards, enterprise architecture, system reliability, and mentor junior engineers. You will collaborate with Operations, Automation, Data Engineering, and Digital Transformation teams to enable advanced analytics, realtime visibility, and intelligent operations.

Key Accountabilities

PI System Architecture & Strategy:

Lead architecture design for PI System enterprise deployments, including AF hierarchy design, data flow strategy, namespace governance, and scaling.
Define and enforce PI AF modeling standards, naming conventions, and governance frameworks.
Architect integrations with cloud data platforms, MES, historians, SCADA, DCS, ERP, and advanced analytics ecosystems.

Advanced PI AF Engineering:

Build and optimize complex AF templates, asset classes, analytics rules, rollups, SQL table lookups, event frames, and notifications.
Drive standardization of AF models across sites and business units.
Develop advanced analytics logic for KPIs, equipment performance metrics, OEE, energy management, and process monitoring.
System Reliability, Performance, & Security
Conduct periodic system health audits, performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting across interfaces, collectors, and integrators. Partner with OT cybersecurity teams to ensure secure architecture, access control, and patching strategies. Integrations, Data Pipelines & Visualization

Architect and guide integration with: Power BI, Cloud platforms (Azure Data Lake, ADF, Databricks, Snowflake), ML/AI pipelines for predictive analytics,Guide visualization teams to leverage AF-modeled datasets for dashboards and enterprise reporting.

Leadership, Mentoring, and Stakeholder Management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with: AVEVA PI System Architecture, PI AF (advanced modeling & analytics), PI Data Archive, Interfaces, Connectors, PI Vision / Process Book migration strategy
• Strong experience with scripting/automation using: PowerShell, Python, SQL, PI AF SDK / Web API.
• Experience designing high-availability PI architecture, clustering, and DR solutions.
• Strong understanding of industrial automation protocols and systems (OPC, DCS, PLCs, SCADA).
• AVEVA Certified PI System Specialist
• Domain Expertise (Preferred)- Oil & Gas / Chemicals,Manufacturing
  Experience mapping physical equipment (e.g., turbines, compressors, reactors, boilers, packaging lines) into AF is a strong asset.
