Job Purpose and Impact:

The Senior storage sourcing specialist (based in Schiphol) will be responsible for sourcing storage warehouses (ambient and cold) mainly terminal storage (dry bulk, silo, and tank) and storage warehouses (palletized ambient and cold) for all Cargill business groups in the EMEA region.
In this role, you will work with internal stakeholders to develop cost-effective storage solutions and build strategic partnerships. It is important that you quickly gain a deep understanding of the market segment and identify business/revenue opportunities for Cargill companies. Additionally, you will develop strategies for regional storage warehouses and terminals and identify supply/cost risks. The senior storage sourcing specialist will develop a plan to mitigate risks, negotiate with external parties under commercial terms, actively participate in and contribute to contract negotiations with Cargill's legal department, and pursue new/growth opportunities.

For this position, we are looking for an organized professional with strong interpersonal skills who can work at least 2-3 days a week from the Cargill Schiphol office. A hybrid option may be considered. Excellent command of English is required; Dutch is preferred but not mandatory. Willingness to learn Dutch is a plus.

  • Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with Cargill business groups to thoroughly understand their supply chain and storage needs to meet customer demands and identify opportunities for Cargill businesses. Support business stakeholders in making decisions that enable sustainable warehouse and terminal solutions that are most beneficial to the company.

  • Find solutions for issues related to storage warehouses and terminals. Represent business groups during the sourcing process through negotiations and contracts, including driving continuous improvement efforts. Provide logistics expertise in defining requirements for storage warehouses/terminals for business groups.

  • Support the storage strategy regarding strategic supplier management such as selection, contract negotiations, and relationship management by developing and maintaining supplier scorecard metrics, tracking value metrics, warehouse/terminal database, contract management process, issue resolution management, etc. Act as the primary point of contact for both management and suppliers in the warehouse/terminal segment. Serve as the sourcing liaison between business units and suppliers.

  • Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in business, supply chain & logistics, transport, supply chain planning, network optimization and design, or a related field.
  • Solid industry experience in a supply chain/logistics-intensive company. Ideally several years of experience in storage, logistics or related fields.
  • Experience in conducting complex negotiations.
  • Excellent command of both English and Dutch, proficiency in additional languages such as German or French is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 15% of working time).
  • Available to work 2-3 days per week at the Schiphol office. Hybrid work options may be considered
