Job Purpose and Impact:

  • The Manager, Application Development
  • ERP sets goals and objectives to achieve operational results for the team responsible for maintaining, integrating, and implementing enterprise software applications across the organization. This role coordinates software configuration, testing, quality assurance, installation, and support activities to ensure stable, timely, and high-quality delivery of new releases and system enhancements.

As part of Cargill's Specialized Portfolio transformation, this role supports the global deployment of SAP S/4HANA across multiple regions while advancing product-centric ways of working. The position leads a team of approximately 6-10 techno-functional consultants who build, maintain, integrate, and implement SAP and low/no-code solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong operational domain expertise (Commercial, Risk Management, Customer Service) with a leadership mindset focused on performance, engagement, and value delivery.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • TEAM MANAGEMENT: Manages and coaches a team of 6-10 techno-functional consultants to achieve organizational goals by driving productivity, setting clear performance expectations, fostering engagement, providing feedback and development opportunities, and supporting continuous improvement in an inclusive team culture.
  • APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT & DEPLOYMENT: Leads the team in programming, configuration, testing, and deployment of fixes and enhancements for application releases. Drives adoption of product-centric operating models and agile ways of working.
  • APPLICATION SUPPORT: Supervises day-to-day technical application support activities to deliver business outcomes. Partners with team leads to oversee solution design, development, and integration for SAP and low/no-code platforms.
  • APPLICATION CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT: Coordinates and builds application configurations aligned with user and business requirements, identifying improvements to complex support processes and procedures.
  • USER COMMUNICATION & SUPPORT: Serves as the primary point of contact for users, prioritizing enhancement requests and ensuring operational excellence across commercial and supply chain processes (receiving, planning, quality, materials, logistics).
  • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Partners with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to ensure solutions align with standards, project goals, and value-driven outcomes.
  • INCIDENT & REQUEST MANAGEMENT: Oversees prioritization and resolution of incoming incident tickets and user requests to ensure service stability and responsiveness.
  • PERFORMANCE MONITORING: Monitors the performance of configured applications and recommends adjustments to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and business impact.
  • APPLICATION PROCESSES & PROCEDURES: Guides the implementation and continuous improvement of application-specific support processes and governance standards.
  • VENDOR MANAGEMENT: Maintains productive relationships with software vendors and supports contract oversight and performance management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Experience as a hands-on Supervisor with strong background in Commercial, Risk Management, Customer Service, and/or Sourcing.
  • Experience across contract management, pricing, costing, order management, invoicing, rebates, sourcing, and/or indirect/direct procurement.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience managing technical or techno-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting SAP environments (preferably SAP S/4HANA).
  • Familiarity with low/no-code platforms.
  • Experience in manufacturing or animal food production environments.
  • Affinity for product operating models and value-based delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
