Director, Risk Framework & Governance, Commercial
Leader in risk management and interacts with senior executive management through overseeing preparation of reporting materials and in some instances, participating in governance and oversight meetings related to risk management. Plays an integral part in the oversight of workstreams including: Regulatory change, international risk, incentive & conduct risk, new product risk assessments, and implementation of enterprise risk assessment frameworks. Responsible for key business unit relationships and critical risk management projects, usually on tight deadlines.
A successful candidate will be very comfortable reviewing materials on a very wide variety of risk topics in detail, helping draft and refine talking points, and providing credible challenges to partner teams providing information in a positive way.

Responsibilities:

Launch and oversee projects, reporting materials and governance oversight meetings related to risk management

Provide risk management consultation to lines of businesses and staff groups on conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation plans, compliance management, and other risk management and control activities

Develop and deliver senior level risk management reporting and communications

Develop and maintain policies and procedures

Willingness to engage with AI tools and functionality
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or military experience
-
At least 5 years of people leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree
At least 5+ years of experience in Project Management
At least 2+ years of experience in Compliance

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Charlotte, NC: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk Management
Mc Lean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Risk Management
Plano, TX: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk Management
Richmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
