This Chief of Staff position will execute the long-term destination of product development in the age of AI at Capital One. We are looking for a seasoned program veteran who is adept at navigating complex organizations and has the organizational mastery to turn a high-level vision into a disciplined reality.

You are someone who thrives on creating order from ambiguity, possesses a deep personal passion for AI, and is dedicated to rewriting the organizational playbook for the next generation of work. The Chief of Staff will work side by side with the AI in Product Lead to build the operational frameworks and communication channels necessary to modernize how product managers work.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Demonstrate strong communications proficiency, including across teams and organizations, and have experience utilizing oral and written communication skills along with presentation skills.

• Have the ability to multitask with simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating urgency, prioritization, and ownership to drive issues to completion.

• Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to be goal/execution-oriented

• Be able to react seamlessly to change in priorities and delivery focus

• Be self-motivated

• Be capable of balancing strategy and tactical delivery

• Execute a strategic approach to all things, especially process and operations

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience

• At least 5 years of experience in Project Management, Process Management, or Agile Delivery

• At least 2 years of experience working with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions

• At least 2 years of experience writing communications and presentations for leadership and non-leadership audiences

• At least 2 years of experience leading technology delivery projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)

• 3+ years of experience driving organizational change and operational excellence

• 4+ years of experience writing communications and presentations for leadership and non-leadership audiences

• 2+ years of working within product and tech operating models

• Experience working with AI tools, both personally and professionally

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Mc Lean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Chief of Staff

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
