As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

Leading and coaching a team of embedded data scientists across the Video space (creation, editing, publishing and discovery)

Owning key product metrics across the end-to-end video journey — from first video creation to repeat usage and power user behaviour
-
Driving high-quality experimentation — shaping hypotheses, ensuring strong design, and translating results into clear rollout recommendations
-
Identifying the biggest growth levers in Video and helping the group prioritise for impact
-
Uplifting experimentation standards, metric definitions and data foundations across our data stack
-
Setting the bar for clear, actionable storytelling that turns complex analysis into simple decisions
You’re probably a match if

You bring deep experience in experimentation, retention and lifecycle analytics

You’re fluent in SQL and confident using Python or R for deeper analysis

You’ve worked with large-scale product datasets and know how to balance rigour with speed
-
You translate ambiguity into clarity and guide teams toward evidence-based decisions
-
You enjoy developing others and raising the bar for craft and impact
-
You thrive in dynamic environments where priorities shift and goals are ambitious
-
Experience working with video technology is highly preferred, and you’re comfortable navigating the technical complexity of media products
About the team
The Video Group sits within the Design Experience Supergroup and focuses on delivering a quick, seamless video creation experience that keeps Canva competitive in the fast-moving social media space. With ambitious growth targets for 2026 and beyond, we use data to drive product decisions that scale our user base while maintaining the speed and simplicity our users expect. Whether it's optimising the editing timeline, surfacing the right AI features at the right moment, or measuring what drives users from first video to power user — we put data at the centre of building a world-class video product.
