About the Team
Marketing at Canva is a 500+ person global organisation spanning Brand, Creative, Performance, International, Mar Tech, Research & Data, Product Marketing and more — operating at high pace, high visibility and high impact.
The Executive Operations role is integral to enabling the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to perform at their very best. This role combines high-trust executive partnership with operational ownership across Marketing, strengthening how the organisation runs at scale.
This is where you come in.
In this role you’ll work directly alongside Zach (our CMO), Ally (our Chief of Staff), and the broader 15+ Ops community deeply embedded across Marketing. You'll sit at the centre of our marketing engine owning how the CMO operates, keeping complex programs on track, and scaling organisational effectiveness.
About the Role
You'll combine executive partnership with real operational ownership — working directly alongside Canva’s CMO and Marketing Chief of Staff to keep Marketing running at its best.
This role operates across two domains:
CMO Operations:
-
Own the CMO's strategic operating rhythm — not just the calendar
-
Design and manage a high-leverage weekly and monthly cadence aligned to Marketing’s priorities
-
Sequence priorities across global time zones, proactively
-
Triage requests, drive things forward, and make smart trade-offs with confidence
-
Prepare briefing materials for leadership meetings, board engagements and external commitments
-
Ensure follow-up and accountability from key forums
-
Own complex domestic and international travel and logistics, end-to-end
-
Manage select personal scheduling, expenses and ad hoc needs
Key Programs
-
Drive important cross-functional programs that touch all of Marketing
-
Turn ambiguous initiatives into clear, trackable plans
-
Keep stakeholders across global teams aligned and moving
-
Maintain visibility on milestones, deliverables and timelines
-
Drive seamless operations behind our biggest marketing moments — think Cannes, Canva Create, Droptober, global offsites and major launches
-
Raise risks early and propose solutions
-
Build and improve scalable workflows that increase organisational effectiveness
Who we’re looking for
There's no one-size-fits-all profile for this role. Here are a few we'd love to hear from — but if you read this and think 'that's me', please apply.
-
A hybrid EA/ops professional who's already doing both. You've never really fit neatly into one box. You're equally at home owning a cross-functional program as you are managing a complex calendar and travel itinerary. You thrive in roles where the scope is broad and the bar is high.
-
**A generalist Ops professional who’s comfortable with the EA craft.**You've run complex programs and built systems at scale. You don't see executive support as a step down — you see it as the foundation that makes everything else possible.
-
A strategic EA or Executive Partner. You've supported C-suite leaders in fast-paced, global environments. At the same time, you’ve stepped beyond support to own programs, cadences, and cross-functional initiatives that materially increased leadership leverage,
Wherever you're coming from, you're probably someone who:
-
Thrives supporting C-suite leaders in in high pressure environments where nothing is perfectly defined
-
Has a track record of making senior leaders more effective — not just more organised
-
Pushes back on senior stakeholders when it's the right call, and builds trust doing it
-
Sweats the detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
-
Anticipates what's needed before being asked
-
Builds relationships quickly across all levels of an org
-
Gets energised by building systems that unlock teams
-
Already uses AI to work smarter and actively looks for new ways to apply it
