The Opportunity:

The Human Resources (HR) Section within the U.S. Department of Justice requires administrative and clerical support to manage increased workload and ensure timely, accurate processing of HR documentation.

This requirement is for a Senior Word Processor to support daily HR operations through data entry and records management activities.

To further support CRT’s Office of Human Resources and Security (OHRS), we are requesting a contractor as follows:

Responsibilities:

  • Works under the supervision of a Task Supervisor.
  • Types, edits, corrects, etc. documents, charts, tables, etc. as required. Proofreads, edits, and corrects OCR'd text files.
  • Responsible for routine file maintenance, including maintaining backup copies of original files, as well as working files.
  • Performs quality control over own work and work of peers.
  • Performs simple maintenance on office machines such as copiers and fax machines.
  • Organizes and maintains correspondence files.
  • Works fairly independently; does not require constant, close supervision.
  • May serve in a coordinating role for a pool of Word Processors, monitoring workload and progress, and performing quality control.

Specific duties will include:

  • General Duties: Assist with data entry and review of standard forms in HR systems; ensure actions are properly documented, coded, and routed.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Generate, review, and reconcile HR reports related to staffing, payroll, and performance management; assist with data calls and quarterly audits.
  • Records and Document Management: Maintain electronic Official Personnel Folders (eOPFs) and HR shared drives; ensure compliance with recordkeeping and confidentiality requirements.
  • Administrative Support: Track incoming/outgoing HR actions, schedule meetings, prepare correspondence, and maintain tracking logs for recruitments, awards, and performance plans.
  • Customer Service Support: Respond to employee and supervisor inquiries related to administrative HR matters, routing more complex inquiries to HR Specialists.

Qualifications:

Required

  • At least two years of word processing experience, including one year in the specific office automation environment required (e.g., JCON 2a, MS Word Office 12/Microsoft Office 2003).
  • Must be able to type at a minimum rate of 65 wpm with an accuracy rate of 95%.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to produce highest quality work under extreme pressure very important.
  • DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US citizenship required)

Period and Place of Performance: Performance is anticipated for at least one (1) year. Work will be performed in person in Washington D.C. in coordination with HR management.

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.​

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:

$21.29
